Privacy Policy for Zigs.me
Last updated: 8 October 2026
Introduction
Welcome to Zigs.me. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal data is handled safely and in compliance with applicable laws, including the UK GDPR. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect through our services, how we use it and who we share it with.
Who We Are
Zigs.me is a platform that allows users to create and manage a personalised link in bio page. Our website address is: https://zigs.me.
Data Controller
Zigs.me is the data controller responsible for your personal information processed via our website.
Types of Data Collected
- Account Data: data you provide when you register, such as your name, username, e-mail address and password (stored encrypted).
- Page Content: what you publish on your bio pages, such as titles, descriptions, images and links. Bio pages are public.
- Payment Data: if you buy a paid plan, your payment is processed by Stripe. We receive the plan, amount, date and status of the payment, but not your full card details.
- Communication Data: messages you send us by e-mail, through the contact form or through "Report this page".
- Technical Data: data about your use of our website, such as your IP address, login data, browser details, pages visited and time zone settings.
- Marketing Data: your preferences for receiving marketing from us and your communication preferences.
Legal Basis for Processing
We process your data under the following legal bases:
- Contract: to provide the service you signed up for, including your account, your pages and any paid plan.
- Legitimate Interests: to keep the service safe (for example, checking links and handling reports), to prevent fraud and abuse, and to improve the service, unless your interests override ours.
- Legal Obligation: when we must keep or share data to comply with the law, such as tax and accounting records.
- Consent: for non-essential cookies and marketing. You can withdraw consent at any time.
How We Use Your Data
We use your data to provide and improve our services, to communicate with you, to process payments, to keep the service secure and to comply with legal obligations.
Keeping the Service Safe
- Link checks: the web addresses of links added to bio pages are sent to Google Web Risk to check whether they are known for phishing or malware. Only the web address is sent, not your name or e-mail address.
- Reports: when someone uses "Report this page", we store the reason, the details written and, if given, the reporter's e-mail address. We do not store the reporter's IP address; we keep only a one-way code made from it, to recognise repeated reports. The page owner is not told who sent a report.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We share personal data only with service providers that help us run Zigs.me, and only for that purpose:
- Hostinger: website hosting and e-mail;
- Stripe: payment processing;
- Google: link safety checks (Google Web Risk) and, if you choose to sign in with Google, the Google login;
- other providers we may use for e-mail delivery or analytics, under the same rules.
We require all of them to keep your data secure and to use it only on our instructions. We may also disclose data when the law requires it, or to the authorities when someone may be at risk.
Data Security
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being lost, used, altered, disclosed or accessed without authorisation. Access to personal data is limited to people who need it to run the service.
Data Retention
We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes we collected it for, including legal, accounting and reporting requirements. You can ask us to delete your account at any time; some records, such as payment records, are kept for as long as the law requires.
Your Rights
Under data protection law you have the right to:
- Access: ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification: ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Erasure: ask us to delete your personal data, under certain conditions.
- Restriction of Processing: ask us to limit how we use your data, under certain conditions.
- Data Portability: ask us to send your data to you or to another organisation, under certain conditions.
- Object to Processing: object to processing based on our legitimate interests, under certain conditions.
- Withdraw Consent: where we rely on your consent, withdraw it at any time.
To use any of these rights, write to contact@zigs.me. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to work, such as keeping you logged in. If we use analytics cookies to understand how the website is used, we tell you in the cookie notice. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Transfers of Personal Data
Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK. When that happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, as required by data protection law.
Third-Party Links
Bio pages contain links to other websites. Clicking on those links may allow those websites to collect data about you. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and, when the change is important, tell you by e-mail.
